Stadium Statement on Soccer Centre Closure

The Soccer Centre at Falkirk Community Stadium will be closing effective Saturday 24 December 2016.

The Soccer Centre has been operating at a reduced capacity for some time now due to the condition of the playing surface. A recent review of the Soccer Centre facility has determined that the facility is no longer operational and as such will be closed and unavailable for use from Saturday.

The Soccer Centre has been hugely popular and continues to be used by a good number or regular and loyal customers. The existing Soccer Centre infrastructure offers six 5 a-side pitches, two of which are linked to the Tennent’s T5 video play back system. Most recently only 3 pitches have been in use due to the condition of the surface on the remaining pitches.

Falkirk Community Stadium in partnership with the Scottish Football Association (SFA) is in the process of reviewing the existing facility and its future usage. This includes the dimensions of the existing pitches and opportunity to reconfigure the pitches to cater for larger sized football groups and other sports activities.

This work will continue over the winter months with a decision on what type of works will be pursued to be decided by the Falkirk Community Stadium Ltd Board in the New Year.
