Enjoy a crafty beer at The Falkirk Stadium

A new festival promises to showcase craft beers, live music and street food in Falkirk.

Craft Beer Discovery on Friday June 30 to Saturday July 1 will see over a dozen independent and artisan brewers exhibit their products at The Falkirk Stadium.

Alongside the delicious ales and beers, visitors can also enjoy cider, wine and gins from the well stocked gin bar and entertainment will be provided by some of the best Scottish musicians and bands. For the peckish, street food such as tacos, burgers and pulled pork will be dished up and the event is under cover, so even the rain won’t dampen the atmosphere.

The event will be one of the first to be held in the new space at Falkirk Stadium, and is from Harbro Events, the team behind Falkirk Whisky Festival and Falkirk Gin Festival. Three sessions are available, a Friday evening, Saturday day and Saturday evening, with a limited amount of early bird tickets on sale now at a reduced price.

Organiser Andy Ure, from Falkirk, said: “This is our biggest and most ambitious event to date, combining craft beer with food and live music.

“Craft beer is enjoying a boom just now as people are more passionate than ever about choosing to drink quality over quantity. With more exhibitors still to be confirmed, we are very excited about some of the great breweries and products already coming along.

“And even for the non-beer lovers, we have ciders, wine and gin available too as well as lots of tasty food and a great line up of entertainment.”

Craft Beer Discovery will be at the Falkirk Stadium on Friday June 30, from 6-11pm and on Saturday, July 1 from 12noon to 5pm and 6-11pm.

Larbert brewery Tryst will be at the event and are producing a special ale for the first Craft Beer Discovery.

Laurie McGarva from the brewery said: "Craft Beer Discovery is a fantastic opportunity for the people of Falkirk to enjoy ales from a wide variety of established breweries and celebrate this unique industry.

"Tryst Brewery are really excited about the event and the Stadium provides a great backdrop.

"The team at Tryst are incredibly passionate about producing quality ales, with locally sourced ingredients, and will be working hard to produce the first festival ale for Craft Beer Discovery."
